MembersFirst among select group of top companies to receive Tech Citizenship Award
Wayland, MA - October 20, 2009 - MembersFirst, Inc., a leading internet marketing company specializing in website design, development, and management services for member-based, lifestyle-driven private clubs, was selected as a recipient of the 2009 Tech Citizenship Award by Mass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology.
The Tech Citizenship Award recognizes the top companies and organizations in the Massachusetts tech community for their corporate philanthropy and giving to nonprofits and charities through financial donations, in-kind contributions, employee volunteerism, and other forms of assistance. MembersFirst was one among twenty-four distinguished recipients of this year's award.
“In a difficult economy, it's notable that so many CEOs continue to make the decision that giving back to their communities is not just a good thing to do, but is the right thing to do strategically as well,” said Douglas Banks, editor of Mass High Tech. “It speaks well of the technology community that this year represents the largest number of companies we've ever recognized — even more than last year's record-breaking count.”
“Corporate giving, particularly in our support of The First Tee and Golf Fight's Cancer, has always been central to our philosophy of providing assistance where it has the greatest impact — on both a local and emotional level,” stated John Blake, president and CEO of MembersFirst. “Our entire team is proud of the services and support we provide to these worthy organizations, and honored to be recognized for simply aligning our interests with theirs.”
MembersFirst will be recognized at the awards breakfast event on November 20, where John Blake, president and CEO, and John Caron, vice president of sales and market development, will join CEOs from the honoree companies in a roundtable dialogue to explore the importance of philanthropy in tough economic times and discuss ways to influence their peers in the technology community.
